Our Nation Under God

Promoting America as a Nation Under God, But Not a National Church as the Church of England

Refuting foreign cultures, legal precedents, languages and religions in opposition to Christianity

Introduction:   While, in this day and age, it is difficult to see the United States as a nation under God, it was once commonplace for politicians to consult their Bibles, for children to pray openly in schools, for the Bible to be taught in public schools, and for the court system to reference the Bible for guidance.[1] These times have passed. The 1960s brought rampant change to American society, and years since have struck even heavier blows to our nation’s Christian heritage. Something integral to our nation has been lost, and it must be found again if America is to endure as its founders envisioned. This discourse will primarily focus on the United State’s Christian roots by examining the beliefs and practices of its founding fathers, namely George Washington and Thomas Jefferson, among others. By examining the claims of Thomas Jefferson, in particular, we hope to shed some light on common misconceptions about the meaning of the phrase, “separation of church and state,” and its modern day implications. We will also look at the various ways our nation has fallen from its Christian heritage and how Christians can make a difference.

THE NATIONS BULLY, The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) strikes again

THE NATIONS BULLY, The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) strikes again, this time against Pittsylvania County.

The ACLU has perfected the bully tactic to perfection by threatening municipalities and counties with law suits if they continue to open their meetings with prayer that mentions Jesus’ name. With the aid of liberal judges they make their point by causing the people to incur cost not only for legal defense, but also the ACLU’s legal prosecuting bill. Their intimidation, their bulling threats are sometimes enough to make the local officials capitulate because they hate to see money wasted in court actions.

Rebuilding a Culture of Life in Virginia

Rebuilding a Culture of Life in Virginia

Dean Welty of the Family Valley Forum speaks with Diana DeBoe member of the Viriginia Christian Alliance Advisory Board and Craig Hudgins who also serves on the Virginia Christian Alliance Board of Directors.

Do you know where the most dangerous place to live in America is today?  Where nearly one-fourth of a particular age group is brutally torn apart and killed simply because they are an “inconvenience” to their parents?  Where over 50 million of these victims have been killed in the past 38 years?  Yes, it’s a mother’s womb in America today, with 22% of all pregnancies now ending in abortion.  So who’s responsible for this Great Holocaust in America, and what can we do to stop it?

A New Christian Alliance for Renewal in Virginia

Dean Welty of the Family Valley Forum speaks with Terry Beatley of No Excuse Ministry and member of the Viriginia Christian Advisory Board and Steve Waters who also serves on the Virginia Christian Advisory Board.

We know that “Prayer Changes Things”. The great heroes of the Bible and many of our first settlers and Founding Fathers were prayer warriors. But then what? Are we tempted to sit back and expect God to fix our problems or send someone else because we’re too busy – or maybe just plain afraid to get involved.

The Truth Project - for a Searching World

The Truth Project - for a Searching World

Dean Welty of the Family Valley Forum speaks with Jasen Glasbrenner and Donna Moore who also serves on the Virginia Christian Advisory Board.

What is Truth?  Is an old question that’s been asked many times, going back to the Garden of Eden when the serpent made Eve doubt what God had said about the forbidden tree.  Pontius Pilate doubted Jesus claim that he was born to bear witness to the Truth.  And we have our own doubts about truths regarding “morality” and “good and evil”.

Are there absolute truths that are always the same, like gravity, or are do they change with situations and over time?· Also, is Truth something we decide for ourselves, or does Someone else make that decision for us?· What is The Truth Project – and why does it matter anyway?

How Will The Shocking Decline Of Christianity In America Affect The Future Of This Nation?

How Will The Shocking Decline Of Christianity In America Affect The Future Of This Nation?

Is Christianity in decline in America?  When you examine the cold, hard numbers it is simply not possible to come to any other conclusion.  Over the past few decades, the percentage of Christians in America has been steadily declining.  This has especially been true among young people.  As you will see later in this article, there has been a mass exodus of teens and young adults out of U.S. churches.  In addition, what "Christianity" means to American Christians today is often far different from what "Christianity" meant to their parents and their grandparents.  Millions upon millions of Christians in the United States simply do not believe many of the fundamental principles of the Christian faith any longer.

Equal Rights and Sacred Liberty

Equal Rights and Sacred Liberty

Rightful human liberty is a function of man’s equal human rights.

“Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others.” Thomas Jefferson

Human liberty, having been endowed to all of us equally by our Creator, is a part of our human nature; our sacred right to liberty is therefore unalienable and only limited by the equal rights of others. Equal human rights and equality before law was the argument of the American Revolution expressed by Thomas Jefferson in our Declaration of Independence.

Stirring the Church for a Third Great Awakening

Stirring the Church for a Third Great Awakening

Dean Welty of the Family Valley Forum speaks with Virginia Christian Alliance Chairman Don Blake and Dean Nelson, who also serves on the VCA board.··

America stands at a crossroads today.  We face a spiritual and moral decline, a massive national debt, an out-of-control government that threatens our liberty, and a growing threat from Islamic jihad here and abroad.

We need another Great Awakening like those in the past that produced our national independence and freedom for slaves, but who will lead it?   What is the churches' role in this?· What is the Virginia Christian Alliance, and what can they do to help?· Finally, what can "We the People" – what can I -- do to rebuild the broken-down pillars of religion and morality on which America was built and has prospered?

The Truth about Christmas and Why it is Under Assault.

The Truth about Christmas and Why it is Under Assault.

This time of year Christians celebrate the birth of our savior at Christ Mass. It’s no secret that Christmas is under massive assault. This year the U.S. military apologized for promoting a Christian-based charity and relief program providing holiday gifts to poor children. As if that wasn’t enough, military hospitals banned bibles, Christian symbols, and prayer. At the same time Muslims are encouraged to wear headdress and Muslim symbols on their uniform.

Watchmen on the Wall -- For God & Country

Watchmen on the Wall -- For God & Country

After a series of programs about America’s Godly Heritage, we are left with a difficult question: “If America was at one time and perhaps still is considered to be a Christian nation, why we are in the throes of a moral meltdown -- and immorality has become the new norm?”

The Islamic Feminism of All-American Muslim

The Islamic Feminism of All-American Muslim

Once upon a time there used to be billboards for Virginia Slims cigarettes with the slogans, “You’ve come a long way, baby.” The billboards are gone now, but in their place are billboards for All-American Muslim which substitute the hijab for the cigarette. The same left which was outraged at a company marketing cigarettes as a form of female empowerment is completely supportive of marketing 7th century Islamic misogyny as female empowerment.
