Steve comes to Virginia from Greensboro, North Carolina. In 2004 he moved to Richmond after working with various conservative candidates in N.C. as well as working in Washington, D.C. with Eagle Forum, a conservative organization founded by Phyllis Schlafly.
His previous experiences including working in Virginia with The Family Foundation, the Virginia Family Policy Council for Focus on The Family, as the Statewide Grassroots Director. In 2006, Steve was the Statewide Grassroots Director for the successful Marriage Amendment, protecting marriage in Virginia between one man and one woman from activist judges. He has lobbied against same-sex benefits being available for local and state government employees to be paid for by taxpayers in Virginia as well as for legislation to protect the rights and life of unborn children.
The Co-Founder of Pastors for Family Values, a pastor based organization, Steve helped lead the successful efforts of the passage of the marriage amendment. Later, remnants of this group became Council on Biblical Principles, which now is vital component and vibrant effort of the Virginia Christian Alliance.
He is still very involved in getting principled men and women elected to local and statewide office as the Managing Principal with Waters & Tate Consulting Group (WTCG), which developed as a result of his management of Bob Marshall’s U.S. Senate campaign for the republican nomination in 2008. As a result of this campaign Steve realized the necessity of having campaign assistance for such candidates that strive to carry out the principles that are grounded in our Christian Heritage and Conservative Principles.
Steve lives in Richmond with his wife, Kelly, and their two sons, Jackson and Gavin. Steve loves having the blessings of faith and family and recognizes the need for such activism to protect these blessings bestowed upon us by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Steve is very involved in his community and sits on a variety of non-profit boards across Virginia.
